I am so very, very pleased with how well I did with the Bout of Books 13.0 Read-a-Thon! I read only 700 pages less than last year even though I joined the read-a-thon a day late and stopped reading four or so hours before midnight on the last day because of how exhausted I was.

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon 13.0

Wow! Day 1 (or at least my Day 1) of Bout of Books 13.0 is over!

So far I’m doing really well, managing to find time to read in addition to things I needed to do and get done. Hopefully this will stay true for the rest of the read-a-thon!

Day 1 Stats

Books Finished: 1
Miss Mayhem by Rachel Hawkins

Pages Read: 314
Miss Mayhem – 288
Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin – 26

Day 2 Goals

1. Finish Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin
2. Have fun!

I hope everyone who is participating in the read-a-thon is having a great time! I myself am trying to keep things as light as possible in the hopes that I’ll be able to write up some content aside from these daily progress reports 🙂

A more accurate title for this post might be “Finding My Way Back to the Blogging World…. ”

It has been a very long time since I last posted here on Readerly Musings, in the middle of my blogiversary celebration.

Unfortunately life got in the way of my reading life for a few months and has stayed in the way of my blogging life for even longer. It is my hope that Bout of Books 13.0 will be my way back into the world of blogging, though I will be starting out very slow!

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon 13.0

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 11th and runs through Sunday, May 17th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 13 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team

My true goal for this read-a-thon is to not only read but also get back into blogging, though I do have a tentative TBR. If I manage to follow it and not read a book off the list, I will be very shocked! And, as always, I am being highly optimistic about how many books I will read…

My TBR

Miss Mayhem by Rachel Hawkins
Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin
The Underground Labyrinth by Louella Dizon San Juan
Echo by Pam Muñoz Ryan
Every Day by David Levithan
The Cult of Kronos by Amy Leigh Strickland

Happy reading, everyone!

WWW Wednesdays is an event brought to you by Should Be Reading.

I’ve done quite a bit of reading again this week, so very pleased with myself!

What are you currently reading?  Nothing other than the five books on my GoodReads shelf I haven’t touched in what feels like ages.

What did you recently finish reading? I read The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White, The Quick by Lauren Owen, House of Secrets: Battle of the Beasts by Chris Columbus & Ned Vizzini, Guardians Inc: The Four Legged Prophet by Julian Rosado-Machain, The School for Good and Evil: A World Without Princes by Soman Chainani, Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins, and Cursed by Jennifer L. Armentrout (the last of which I read early this morning instead of going to sleep…). I also reread Stolen Magic by Stephanie Burgis.

What do you think you’ll read next? I’ll be starting The High King by Lloyd Alexander in a few days, no question, and Anne of Green Gables will be the next one from my selection of classics (I kind of want to wait for it to stop raining before I start it, so I don’t know exactly when that will happen). I’m not sure what else, I might need to peruse my bookshelves and Kindle library for a bit before deciding. Hmm…
